Dr. Charles Francoeur practices internal medicine and critical care medicine at the CHU de Québec – Université Laval (Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus). Dr. Charles Francoeur obtained his medical degree from Université de Sherbrooke in 2007. He then completed specializations in internal medicine (Université Laval, FRCPC 2012), and in adult critical care (Université de Montréal, FRCPC 2013), followed by postdoctoral training in neurocritical care at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York from 2014 to 2016. He also completed his training in epidemiology at Columbia University in New York (M.Sc. 2017).
Dr. Francoeur is a clinical faculty lecturer since 2014. He joined the CHU de Québec – Université Laval Research Centre in 2017 as an associate scientist in the Population Health and Optimal Health Practice Research Unit (trauma – emergency – critical care theme), and is a member of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group (CCCTG). His primary interests are severe neurological lesions in critical care patients, more specifically, of vascular origin.
