Dr. Shane English is an Adult Intensivist and Neuro-Intensivist, an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Critical Care) at the University of Ottawa and an Associate Scientist at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). Dr. English has a particular interest in the neuro-critically ill patients, and he pursued a fellowship training in neurocritical care at Cambridge University Hospital Addenbrooke’s NeuroCritical Care Unit in the UK. He also completed an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. English’s research interests lie in neurocritical care, particularly in subarachnoid hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury with current programs of research in secondary neurologic injury prevention in subarachnoid hemorrhage patients. Research methodologies of particular interest include systematic reviews, observational and interventional studies. Clinically, Dr. English practices Critical Care Medicine at the Civic Campus of The Ottawa Hospital.
