May 12, 2024 – At the conclusion of the most recent Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS) and Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC) Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) competitions, we would like to congratulate those who have been awarded a fellowship:
Awarded researcher:
Mélanie Bérubé was awarded a FRQS “Chercheurs-boursiers Junior 2” fellowship for the project “Interventions durables pour l’optimisation de l’usage des opioïdes et de la santé mentale chez les patients ayant subi des blessures traumatiques en combinant l’évidence et la perspective des parties intéressées”.
Grants:
Lynne Moore (principal investigator) was awarded a FRQS grant as part of the Chercheurs-boursiers de mérite – subvention competition for a project entitled “Improving the quality of adult and pediatric trauma care in Canada: an integrated approach based on evidence, gaps between knowledge and practice, and stakeholder priorities”.
Alexis Turgeon, principal investigator, received 5-year funding from CIHR for the BRAINapt project, the international clinical trials platform for traumatic brain injury in intensive care. Co-Principal Investigators François Lauzier and Lynne Moore, as well as Mélanie Bérubé, Charles Francoeur, Paule Lessard Bonaventure, Maude St-Onge and Michael Verret, and over fifty co-investigators from various centers around the world, are also part of this project.
Mélanie Bérubé received a 4-year grant for the project “Improving mental health practices in patients recovering from traumatic injuries: Identifying priorities based on knowledge to practice gaps and interested parties needs and preferences”.
Student awards and scholarships:
Paule Lessard Bonaventure, 3rd cycle student (director: Alexis Turgeon), was awarded a scholarship from the Formation de doctorat pour les détenteurs d’un diplôme professionnel (FRQS) program for her project “Évaluation de l’utilisation de l’électroencéphalogramme chez les patients admis à l’unité de soins intensifs suivant un traumatisme craniocérébral”.
Frédérique Lamothe Boucher, 2nd cycle student (director: Alexis Turgeon), won two grants, one from the Master’s Training for Medical Students (M.D.-M.Sc.) program (FRQS) for her project “Impact des délais préhospitaliers sur le pronostic fonctionnel à 12 mois chez les patients ayant subi un traumatisme craniocérébral grave: une étude de cohorte rétrospective”. Frédérique also won one of the Canada Graduate Scholarships at the Master’s level (CGS M) awarded by CIHR.
Cécile Duval, a graduate student (directors: Lynne Moore & Caroline Sirois), was awarded a FRQS Doctoral Training Program scholarship for her project “Prescriptions for low-value drugs in hospitalized patients following trauma: retrospective cohort study and budget impact analysis”.
Janyce Jivroncia Judith A E Gnanvi, post-graduate student (supervisor: Lynne Moore), was awarded a FRQS Doctoral Research Award for her project “Social determinants of health and pediatric trauma care in Canada”.
Anis Ben Abdeljelil, post-graduate student (Director: Lynne Moore) won a CIHR Doctoral Fellowship from the Canada Graduate Scholarships program.
