Dr. Matthew J. Weiss, MD, FRCPC

Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Université Laval

Dr. Matthew Weiss practices pediatric critical care medicine at the CHU de Québec – Université Laval (CHUL). He obtained his medical degree from the University of Kansas and then immigrated to Canada to pursue his residency in pediatrics and a subspecialization in pediatric critical care medicine at McGill University. He joined the pediatric critical care team at the CHU de Québec – Université Laval in 2010.

Dr. Weiss is an assistant clinical professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Université Laval, in the department of pediatrics, and an adjunct professor at the CHU de Québec – Université Laval research centre. His academic activities are mainly focused on organ donation, and he is funded by the Canadian Blood Services to assist in the development of clinical practice guidelines. He is an active member of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group, and the medical director of organ donation at Transplant Québec.
